It is with great regret that we must inform you that the World Mayor Prize 2025 will not be awarded.

The public response to the issue of poverty did not meet our expectations. The number of nominations was significantly lower than in previous years.

With a few exceptions, none of the mayors nominated for the World Mayor Prize has, in our opinion, developed a convincing concept for combating poverty in their communities.

The World Mayor Prize 2025 will be merged with the Solidarity Prize. The Prize, awarded by the Immigrant Times, honours cities and communities that are particularly committed to harmonious coexistence between the local population and immigrants. Unlike the World Mayor Prize, the Solidarity Prize honours an entire community and not just the mayor.

If you believe that the town or city of the mayor you have nominated for the World Mayor Prize is a place where people of all backgrounds live together harmoniously, we would be delighted to receive your nomination.
